Pair of Empire teapots – Claude Galle
France, Paris, circa 1810. A luxurious pair of bronze ewers produced in the renowned workshop of Claude Galle (1759–1815). Very high-quality castings with precise chased workmanship; fire-gilded bronze, partly decorated with brown patination. The bodies of the vessels are adorned with relief appliqués; sculpturally decorated handles terminating in griffin heads. Marble bases. Overall dimensions: 47 × 10.5 × 17 cm.
Provenance: Important aristocratic collection.
